Another useful tool I use on my Mac is VirtualHostX and I think it deserves a plug. I’m afraid this is quite a geeky topic, but if you work with multiple websites on a single machine it’s very handy to set up virtual hosts. This means each site behaves as if it was hosted on a unique domain. You can achieve this manually by editing the Apache configuration files, but it’s a tedious process and easy to make a mistake.
